The heartbeat of a non-profit organization like Canine Classmates is the volunteers. Our Best Buddy Mentors are retirees, businesspeople, parents, and grandparents who are committed to making a difference in the lives of at-risk students by mentoring them during one-on-one reading sessions. Best Buddy Mentors typically volunteer one day a week from 9 am – 2 pm for the school year. There are two opportunities to volunteer – one where you mentor with your own dog that can pass an eligibility program OR one where you mentor with a dog supplied by Canine Classmates.
